Norma has 20 years’ experience of leading high-profile communication campaigns for human rights and development, including as Communications Director for Plan International and Amnesty International UK.
As part of Plan’s International Management Team she led operations in 45 developing countries. She has also advised the WHO on its Roll Back Malaria campaign, been Chief Executive of the Ramblers’ Association, and is on the Governing Council of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
Work has included facilitation of development of global avian influenza communications for the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and FAO; and review of tsunami communications for UNICEF HQ, devising national strategies for behavioural change in relation to Guinea Worm Disease in Ghana and Nigeria, and working with fundraising colleagues to deliver WHO's Global Resource Mobilization strategy.
